Why are you nominating this candidate?
Since joining at the beginning of 2016, with the opening of Gran Hotel Miramar, in Malaga, Jose helps and advises guests from all over the world to discover and make the most out of this upcoming city. Jose has travelled and worked all over the world as concierge and butler, having always been facing clients of different cultures directly, which made them study and understand their different needs and mindsets.
He is committed to our association and was recently awarded with the first edition of the “Alfredo Molero Award”, given to the best Spanish young concierge (under 35). I believe Jose will be an useful link between Les Clefs d’Or and new potential members in an area that is gaining popularity as the days go by, showing them and inviting them to see and encourage them to join what we do and how we do it. There is a tremendous source of opportunity in nearby school and universities such us Les Roches Marbella, HEC, School of tourism of Malaga, etc.
Describe the process you used to select your candidate:
We have now officially established the “Alfredo Molero award”, which is given to the best young concierge (under 35 y/o) in Spain, after our first National President in Les Clefs d’Or Spain who was also our first Spanish International President. In it, the candidate had to introduce himself as a member, he is asked about the history of our association both nationally and internationally, and is asked to explain what Les Clefs d’Or means to them and what they can do for the association, how they can get involved.
This all happens in front of a jury who will later decide which concierge will receive the award in that year and will represent Spain in the International General Assembly of the year after, and participate in Les Clefs d’Or award.
