Why are you nominating this candidate?
When I first met Constantin one could already see the potential he offered to the position as a concierge.
Not coming from a classical hotel background, but having studied “International Management for Service Industries”, he started working as a concierge at the InterContinental Frankfurt in August 2013. Having lived on three different continents his intercultural competence allowed him to immediately address the guest’s needs accordingly. Knowing that he is not a Frankfurt native he put a lot effort into getting to know the city as fast as possible. Therefore, he understands how guests feel coming to Frankfurt for the first time and can anticipate their needs and wishes easily. Also, Constantin lives by the credo that each guest deserves not less than the most unique and amazing experience while staying at their “home away from home”.
One of his biggest strength is that he is as firm as a rock. Doesn’t matter how busy you will encounter the hotel lobby or in which state of mind the guest is he ensures that each and every one of them feels special and recognized. Guests as well as colleagues can rely on him delivering the results and solutions expected, regardless of it requiring extra hours at work or personally fulfilling requests before or after work to warrant the guest’s satisfaction. Constantin is always happy to share his experiences and discoveries with the team. He curates a monthly newsletter which is available to guests and colleagues as well. New team members gain lots of useful information about the hotspots of the city and services available in the surrounding neighbourhood of the hotel by taking part in the so called “Concierge Walk” innovated by Constantin. When he travels the world he is also very keen on gaining insight and sharing best practices with other fellow concierges, which are also very welcome in our department.
I am very happy for Constantin that he gets the chance to represent Les Clefs d’Or Germany at the 65th UICH congress in Seoul as a nominee for the Les Clefs d’Or Award as he lives being a concierge and that his work, commitment and passion for our profession will be recognized.
Describe the process you used to select your candidate:
Germany is divided into seven sections and within these sections votings were being held to determine a candidate, who fulfils all criteria and is representative for the offspring generation. Once all sections had put down their favourite, the final candidate has been assigned by lot.
