PARIS, France – Les Clefs d’Or®, Union Internationale des Concierges d’Hôtels announces program for the 65th UICH Congress.

The Congress, to be held in Seoul South Korea from April 5th to the 10th, 2018 will draw over 400 concierge members of Les Clefs d’Or® from around the world for some productive days filled with meetings, education and networking. The theme of this year’s congress is Golden Opportunities.

Most travelers recognize the golden crossed keys on the lapels of a hotel concierge. Like stars for a restaurant, these keys identify quality, knowledge and exceptional personalized service. The golden keys show that this is one of 4,000 concierges worldwide, who was officially chosen by the association of Les Clefs d’Or, to support national and international travelers all over the world by making their stay in their hotel and city special. In 2019 the association will turn 90 years old, confirming exceptional service will never go out of style.

In addition, this annual meeting is set up to focus on the future goals of the Concierge profession. Operations and current challenges of the hospitality industry will be discussed and best practices will be exchanged to strengthen the knowledege of professional hotel concierges worldwide.

The Educational Day to be held on April 7th, will offer all members a multiplicity of topics: focusing attention on the strategic development of the Hotel Concierge’s role in this age of advancing technology and industry changes. With a variety of presentations, workshops and interactive sessions the members will study up-to-date methods of achieving sustainable quality service standards and how to increase guest trust with emotional intelligence.

Partners like American Express, the Korea Joongang Daily and Korea’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism support this worldwide network. In addition, many local enterprises and hotels will be assisting to create a very special congress.

To ensure a safe and successful future for the concierge profession, new members have the chance to participate in the “Les Clefs d’Or Award”. Set up eleven years ago in honour of the memory of respected Past International leaders and Presidents; this year the award honours Andre Demonte. It aims to recognize and encourage young members to become active participants of the global concierge network. The Association intends to encourage as many countries as possible to present profiles of capable young members. The prize for the recipient of the award is an invitation to the next Les Clefs d’Or International Congress.
